DOES IT REALLY MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

I believe it is a matter of great importance what we teach and what we tell others God has said. Sadly, with many people they attach no importance to calling Bible things by Bible names or doing Bible things in Bible ways, with them it “doesn’t make any difference.” Perhaps they are right, but if that is so it mystifies me as to why God would have given us a book that in round numbers contains 845,000 words containing commandments, examples, exhortations and admonitions for us. He could have just let us gone our own way.

One of the practices that is prevalent among disciples that is foreign to scripture teaching is the practice of designating some with the title of “Reverend.” The purpose being to denote them as in some special class or what we know as the “clergy.” (Another idea foreign to scripture)

This practice is in conflict with the principals put forth by Jesus that we seek no special recognition and that we are “on the same level as brothers and sisters.” Matt.23:8 N.L.T.

The word “reverend “ is used only one time in those 845,000 words that constitute the scriptures and it is a reference to Almighty God not to some creature of the dust! See Ps.111:9

I find it most interesting that we never read of Reverend Peter, Matthew, Mark, Luke, Paul or any other humble servant of God. Maybe they knew something that we don’t.

Maybe it doesn’t make any difference to you but check it out before you say that it doesn’t make any difference to the true reverend God!! In love--Gerald
