The Early Lancaster Rifle is not a copy of any particular Lancaster Country Rifle. It differs from the Late Lancaster in two ways. First, the buttplate is wider and a little flatter. The trigger guard is larger and heavier allowing us to use the larger double set triggers. Secondly, the furniture is somewhat larger and heavier and the butt of this stock has an early Germanic look to it.
The standard model is built using a large Siler flint in right or left hand. For those of you who wish, a percussion lock can be used. We use a straight octagon 36" or 42" barrel, your choice of caliber, 32 to 58, standard barrel flat size will be 13/16ths to 1". The butt stock will be built to your length of trigger pull. We use 14" for our standard pull.
The rifle with standard cost options can be made into a fine custom rifle that can be passed down thru generations of your family.
