OLD TISHOMINGO COUNTY GENEALOGICAL FAIR - 2018



The Sixth Annual Old Tishomingo County Genealogy Fair was held at the Iuka United Methodist Church in Iuka, MS, on August 18, 2018. Admission was free, and a delicious lunch was served. Attendees from several states was represented this year and we also enjoyed the vendor exhibits that were set up.

Speakers were George J. Makowski, Jason Terrell, and Robert Scott Davis.

George J. Makowski is a professor in the Department of History and Political Science at the University of North Alabama. He has been involved in mapping projects from Stirling, Scotland to Lauderdale County in Alabama. Informative presentation on cemetery mapping.

Jason Terrell is an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma. He has been doing genealogical research on Native American families, with an emphasis on Southeastern Tribes, for over 25 years.

Robert Scott Davis is director of the Family and Regional History Program at Wallace State Community College in Hanceville, Alabama. He teaches genealogy, geography, and history. Professor Davis’ more than 1,000 publications on records and research include guides to doing research in Alabama and Georgia.
