Glass, Martha

Martha Lindsey Baldwin Glass, 82, died Sunday, May 20, 2011, at Mississippi Care Center. She was born Aug. 11, 1928. She worked for many different garment factories over the years, and she was of the Baptist faith.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Charlie Browning officiating. Burial wll be in forrest Memorial Park. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include sons, Phil Baldwin and Jerry Baldwin (Ann), both of Corinth; five grandchildren; and a brother, Sam Lindsey of Corinth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Odell Baldwin; daughters Brenda Newton and Linda Tucker; two grandchildren; father, Earl Lindsey; mother, Kate Dodd Lindsey; brothers, Joe Lindsey, Jimmy Lindsey, Ward Lindsey and Archie Lindsey; sisters, Vera Mask, Mary Glidewell, Blanche Glidewell and Kathryn Thrasher.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time toay at the funeral home.

Guthrie, Joseph L.


Elder Joseph L. Guthrie died on Sunday, 26th ault., at his home in north Corinth from an attack of apoplexy. His health had been rather precarious for some weeks, but he was at his place of business Saturday prior to his death. He was about 65 years of age, a member of the Primitive Baptist church and had resided with his family several years in Corinth. The numerous friends throughout the country are grieved to learn of his death. The remains were laid to rest at Antioch church, seven miles south of town.
