Lancaster, Carrie Mae

Funeral services for Carrie Mae Lancaster, 88, of Corinth are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at Pinecrest Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Hambrick officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. McPeters Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Lancaster died Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2008, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a native of Alcorn County. She and her late husband, Buford Lancaster, were charter members of Pinecrest Baptist Church. She taught Sunday school for more than 30 years and also worked in all capacities of the church. She enjoyed cooking, sharing with not only her family, but her church family, caring for others, gardening and flowers, especially roses of all colors and shapes.
Mrs. Lancaster was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie “Buford” Lancaster, and one grandson, Jerry Wayne Lancaster Jr.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Lonnie and Janice Lancaster of Corinth, Jimmy and Patricia Lancaster of Pensacola, Fla., and Jerry and Chris Lancaster of Rodeo, Calif.; four daughters, Nellie and Jim Blair of Lorain, Ohio, and Barbara and Bobby Elam, Shirley and Mike McClamrock, and Hilda and John Mitchell, all of Corinth; three brothers, Richard Leatherwood, Marcus Leatherwood and J.R. Leatherwood, all of Corinth; one sister, Mary Alice Cook of Nashville, Ark.; 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Randy Wilbanks, Glenn Wilbanks, Jay Mitchell, Brian Sugg, Kenny Carson, Tanner Hopkins and Dr. Mark Mazurkiewicz.
Visitation will be today from 5 p.m. until to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Lancaster, Jerry Wayne II

Jerry W. Lancaster II - Beloved husband, son, father, brother, nephew, uncle and cousin died after a battle with cancer on February 21, 2008, at his San Jose home. He was 39 years old. Born on February 9, 1969, in Corinth, Mississippi. Jerry was in love with the peaceful lifestyle of the South and always considered Corinth his home. He moved to California with his parents in 1973.
Jerry is survived by his loving parents Jerry and Christine Lancaster, wife Annalisa Lancaster, three children Jerry III, 21, Jessica, 19, and Autumn, 11, as well as four stepchildren, Craig, 20, Ashley, 16, Kyle, 15, and Riley, 12. Also grieving are his grandparents, Theophilus Austin and Jetta Mills, Carrie Mae Lancaster, Henrietta and Ron Edwards, sister Deborah Williams, brother-in-law Jason Williams, and niece Gabrielle Williams. His many relatives & friends, as well as his Chocolate Labrador, Bear and Bengal cat, Tiva will miss him dearly.
Services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. at North Valley Baptist Church, Santa Clara, CA. Interment at Los Gatos Memorial Park.
Funeral officiate is Ryan Thompson. Pallbearers: Jason Williams, Jess R. Moreles, Michael Pillion, Anthony Vonnegut, Joseph Vonnegut, Matthew Falls. Hon. Pallbearers: Travis Gorden and Joshua Vallejos.
He is home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus, now. His faith is reflected in this key Bible verse: 1 Cor. 15:31 "Therefore, my beloved brethren be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord."

Lancaster, Lonnie 'Buford'

Funeral services for Lonnie "Buford" Lancaster, 84, of Corinth are set for 11 a.m. today at Pinecrest Baptist Church with Bro. Doug Hambrick and Bro. Jim Philamlee officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Lancaster died Tuesday, March 27, 2007, at Cornerstone Health & Rehab. He was a charter member of and deacon at Pinecrest Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday School and was a youth leader. He was a First Class Lineman with Alcorn County Electric Power Association for 35 years and a member of IBEW Local #852, and he loved gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Lily Myrtle Lancaster; seven brothers, Robert Lancaster, George Lancaster, Elbert Lancaster, John Lancaster, Hollis Lancaster, Tom Lancaster and J.R. Lancaster; and two sisters, Mary Etta Barnes and Velma Lancaster.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Carrie Mae Lancaster of Corinth; three sons, Lonnie Lancaster and his wife, Janice, of Corinth, Jimmy Lancaster and his wife, Patricia, of Pensacola, Fla., and Jerry Lancaster and his wife, Chris, of Rodeo, Calif.; four daughters Nellie Blair and her husband Jim, of Lorain, Ohio, and Barbara Elam and her husband Bobby, Shirley McClamroch and her husband, Mike and Hilda Mitchell and her husband, John, all of Corinth; one sister, Charlene Gatewood of Corinth; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Honorary pallbearers are past and present employees of Alcorn County Electric Power Association.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church Building Fund, 313 Pinecrest Rd., Corinth, MS 38834.
Visitiation will continue from 10 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Lancaster, Mrs. Margret A.

Mrs. Margret A. Lancaster, widow of Ben Lancaster, died at 2:30 o'clock this morning at her home about five miles west of Kossuth. She was 69 years of age, and had been in declining health and a weakened condition for some time.
Surviving her are a number of relatives including a son, Tilton Lancaster, of Kossuth.
Funeral services and interment will be at Union church near her home at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon. McPeters funeral directors will be in charge. Mrs. Lancaster was a loyal religious worker and a faithful mother.

Lawson, Joe

Corinth - Joseph Spencer Lawson, 67, died Friday, June 10, 2011, at Magnolia Regional Health Center.
Services with military honors will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tate Baptist Church with Charlie Browning and Bro. Mickey trammel officiating. burial will be in Corinth National Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.

Leatherwood, Thomas William (Buster)

Services for Thomas William (Buster) Leatherwood, retired farmer of Corinth, were held Saturday at Tishomingo Chapel Baptist Church. Burial was in Wheeler Cemetery with MPeters Mortuary in charge.
Mr. Leatherwood, who was 97, died Friday morning at his home near Corinth. His wife, the former Miss Fannie McCord died in 1962.
He leaves a daughter, Mrs. Lillie Leatherwood of near Corinth; two nephews, a niece, three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Logan, Mrs. Ned

Corinth, Jan. 21 - (Special) - This community was shocked when the news came of the sudden death of Mrs. Ned Logan, formerly Miss Willie Keistetr, of this city, which occurred on a train on the way to a hospital in Memphis. Mrs. Logan was formerly a member of the Corinth high school faculty. She is survived by her husband, a six-months'-old baby, and one sister.
