Mithell, Willie Jr.

Funeral services for Willie B. Mitchell Jr., 57, of Corinth are set for 2 p.m. Sunday at Magnolia Chapel of Memories with Bro. Jim Bennett and Bro. Ricky Hutson officiating. Burial will be in Henry Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Mitchell died Friday, Sept. 13, 2002, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a sales specialist for Jim Bennett Yacht Sales, a supervisor for ITT 18 years and a member of Wenasoga Church of Christ. He enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren, and he loved his family and his job as top salesman for Gibson Boats.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Maizie Mitchell, Willie Emma and Monroe Harmon; his father-in-law, James Henry; and his mother-in-law, Mary Jewel Henry.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Joyce Mitchell of Corinth; two sons, Terry Mitchell and his wife, Rhonda, and Brian Mitchell and his wife, Stacie, all of Corinth; one daughter, Beverly Kaye Trantham and her husband, Danny Wayne, of Corinth; his parents Willie B. Mitchell Sr. and Virble I. Harmon Mitchell, both of Corinth; five grandchildren, Codey Mitchell, Avery Mitchell, Tyler Trantham, Taylor Trantham and Weston B. Mitchell; the mother of Terry Mitchell and Brian Mitchell, Shirley Maddox and her husband, Bill Parnell, of Corinth; three sisters, Brenda Sanders and husband, Danny, and Jackie Sweat and her husband, Bobby, all of Corinth, and Vickie Downs and her husband, Marty, of Wheeler; one sister-in-law, Wanda Milligan her husband, James, and her son, Shane Hall and his wife, April, all of Michie, Tenn.; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers will be Bo Bennett, Todd Hutchinson, Jimmy Phelps, Jim Kennedy, Deward Meeks, Ron Martin, Jerry Stewart and Rodney Vanhoose.
Honorary pallbearers are Don Armstrong, Jim Bennett, James Milligan, the employees of Jim Bennett Yacht Sales and former employees of ITT.

Moment, Henry

Funeral services for Henry Moment, 91, are set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Rienzi with the Rev. V.L. Cummings officiating. Burial will be at Rienzi Cemetery.
Mr. Moment died Tuesday, April 3, 2007, at his home. He was a retired custodian for Northeast Mississippi Junior College and also retired from Grayson's Funeral services.
He was preceded in death by his parents; both wives; five sons, William Henry Moment, Bobby Estes Moment, Johnny Clyde Moment, Willie Herman Moment Sr. and George Edward Moment; and one daughter, Mattie Billingsley.
Survivors include two daughters, Clara Gardner (Al Sorrell) and Mary Elizabeth Anderson; two sons, Robert Moment (Brenda) and John Moment; two stepdaughters, Fronnie Rudd (Robert) and Willie Mae Davis (James); two daughters-in-law, Irene Moment and Ida Mae Moment; 38 grandchildren, Anthony Moment (Toya), Elaine Moment, Lawanda Moment, Montrel Moment, Robert Crump, Coleman Crump, L.V. Crump (Hazel), Karl Crump (Sharon), William Leonard, Dale Leonard, Ben Leonard (Tangie), Jamie Davis, Angela Davis, Mary Ann Moment, Willie Herman Moment Jr. (Cynthia), James Moment (Clarissa), John Chandler (Janet), Tisha Anderson, Retha Anderson, Sonya Pippins (Broderick), Calvin Moment, Michael Moment, Misty Moment, Christy Moment, Mallory Moment, Jeffrey Moment, Lucinda Moment, Mae Alice Moment, William Odell Moment, Antonio Moment, Trina Ann Moment, Bobby Moment, John Wayne Moment, Antonio Moment, Barbara Ann Moment, Frances Moment, Cookie, Moment and Antonio Moment; 50 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and four special friends, Jean Rogers, Louise Warren, Raynell Walden and Brenda Felks.

Morton, Marcus

Corinth – Marcus Henry Morton died Monday, Dec. 20, 1993, at the Magnolia Hospital after a brief illness. He was a retired employee of ITT Telecommunications, where he was a machine operator. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and a member of the VFW, the Prentiss and Alcorn Water Association board, and Union Baptist Church.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Union Baptist Church with the Rev. Buddy Downs and F.A. Collins officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Florence Kuykendall Morton of Rienzi; one son, Michael J. Moore of Rienzi; two daughters, Susan Qualls of Corinth and Laylyn Luttrell of Jackson; three brothers, Robert Morton of Honolulu, Hawaii, Roy Borton of Bonita Springs, Fla., and Frank Morton of Corinth; three sisters, Pauline Carpenter of Slayden, and Margaret Haley and Frances Ramer, both of Corinth.

Morton, Margaret

Margaret L. Morton, 80 died Monday, July 26, 2004, in Corinth. She was born Jan. 15, 1924, in Alcorn county to the late Vester and Rhoda Mullens. She was a member of Biggersville First Baptist Church and a former employee of the Corinth Machinery Company. She loved and devoted her life to her family.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth with the Rev. Rayburn Richardson officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Margaret Jobe and husband, Larry, of Glen and Sherry Perkins and husband, Steve, of Corinth; her grandchildren, Rhonda Jobe and friend, Trey Joyner, of Memphis, Jenny Demilio and husband Peter, of Cordova Tenn., Christy Brantley and husband, Scott, and Julie and Dow Perkins, all of Corinth; two great-grandchildren, Anabelle Brantley and EllaDemilio; three uncles, Allen Mullens of Corinth and Howard James and wife, Dell, and Auford James, all of Washington, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Morton, her parents; a sister, Gladys Ruth Mullens Grimes; and Manual Mullens Jr.
Her nephews will serve as pallbearers.

McDaniel, Lois

Corinth – Hazel V. “Lois” McDaniel, 84, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at Country cottage. She was born March 22, 1922, in McNairy County, Tenn., to the late Homer and Bertha Lee Gray. She was retired from Belk-Hudson after 20 years of service. She was a member of East Corinth Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and was very active in the church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Memorial Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ralph Culp officiating with the eulogy by Jackie McDaniel. Burial will be in the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Jackie McDaniel and his wife, Donna Dabney McDaniel, of Athens, Ala.; her grandchildren, Blake McDaniel of Nashville, Tenn., Andrew McDaniel of Tokyo, Japan and Anna McDaniel of Athens, Ala.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gerry McDaniel, and her parents.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today and on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m.

McDowell, Naomi

Naomi Monroe McDowell, 93, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at Corinth Health and Rehab Care. She was born June 22,1908, in Alcorn County to the late Henry and Laura Monroe. She was retried from Corinth Manufacturing Company and a member of the West Corinth Baptist Church.
Services were at 3 p.m. Sunday at the McPeters Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth with the Rev. Harris Counce Jr. officiating. Burial was in the Wheeler Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Charles Edward McDowell and his wife, Mary, of Memphis, ten.; one daughter, Clara Reeves and her husband, Bill, of Collierville, Tenn.; two brothers, Jimmy Monroe and Harold Monroe, both of Corinth; two sisters, Jeanette Wilburn of Slayden and Peggy Day of Iuka; three grandchildren, David Regenhardt and his wife , Barbara of Collierville, Tenn., Mark Regenhardt of Memphis, Tenn., and Julie Howe and her husband, John, of Memphis; two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were David Regenhardt, Mark Regenhardt, John Howe, Don Pace, Lanny Pace and Steve Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred McDowell; her son, Hance Ray McDowell; and her parents.
