Funral services for Beatrice Lou Owen, 88, of Corinth, are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Vanderford officiating. Burial will be in Vanderford Cemetery
Mrs. died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born May 17, 1920, in Alcorn County. She was a long time resident of Alcorn County and attended Macedonia Freewill Baptist Church. She had resided in Lee County since October of 1995.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Clyde Owen; her son, James Lesley Owen; parents, Mary Effie Strickland and William C. Hampton, brothers, Dalton J. Hampton, Willie James Hampton and Dalton L. Hampton; and sisters, Ruby Lee Knight, Opal Earline Montgomery and Mattie Ruth Stutts.
Survivors include her son, Jim D. Owen of Tupelo; a sister Mary Ailene Childers of Texas; five grandchildren, Leslie Marlar of Corinth, Jennifer Coleman of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Courtney Vines, Curt Owen and Brad Owen, all of Tupelo; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason Marlar, Curt Owen, Brad Owen, David Coleman, John Vines, Brayden Owen, Bryce Owen and Zack Marlar.
Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. tonight at Coleman Funeral Home.
